The Trideum Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for charitable outreach affiliated with the Trideum Corporation (the Geek's employer). The stated purpose of the Trideum
Foundation is "to provide a help and a hope, in and through the local communites, by funding charitable projects that provide a catalyst for volunteer participation."
All donations to the Trideum Foundation are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
The Trideum Foundation receives the sponsorship donations. In turn, the Foundation supports the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Georgia and Alabama and other charitable projects.
I had 3 basic choices about how to handle the donations from my sponsors.
- Collect the donations myself and then give the money to Make-A-Wish®
This option would have put a huge burden, liability and responsibility on me. In addition, some people have reservations about giving to an individual,
especially if the individual is not well known by the sponsor. Not to mention the donations would not be tax deductable
- Have sponsors give directly to Make-A-Wish®
While giving directly to Make-A-Wish® would be tax deductable, it would be nearly impossible to see the results of the money given by my sponsors.
- Have sponsors give to an organization that supports Make-A-Wish®
Giving to the Trideum Foundation is tax deductible to the full extent of the law. But, most importantly, this will allow the ability to be directly involved in the granting of
each wish that is adopted. Because the Trideum Foundation will be adopting each wish, we will have the opportunity to be closely involved during the process, including being able to
host the wish kickoff party where the child and family are granted their wish.
100% of every dollar contributed to the Trideum Foundation goes back out in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Georgia and Alabama and other charitable projects. That's because
Trideum Corporation covers the overhead and administrative costs of the Trideum Foundation.
First, only a portion of the funds given at the national level actually go to granting wishes.
Second, at the chapter level, which is geographicly based, the Trideum Foundation can adopt a wish child from the local community.
December 31, 2008 or 140 lb weight loss, which ever comes first.
A 140 lb weight loss would put me at 200 lbs. However, since I have no personal reference as to what my "goal weight" should be, 200 lbs could be too low. So, I will have to continually
evaluate things as I progress. If I decide that my ideal weight is higher than 200 lbs, I will end the sponsorship program with one months notice.
You are sponsoring the Geek's weight loss and is based on $/lb. The amount you sponsor is completely up to you.
The total weight loss for the program will be around 140 lbs, but will be spread over many months. Some months I could have as much as a 15-20 lb weight loss or as little as no loss at all.
Most definately! I need all the "moral support" I can get. Each person that I know is behind me provides me with additional motivation and accountability.
Please
sign my guestbook or use the
Contact Me link and let me know you are following my progress.
- Sign up to sponsor the Geek by clicking the "Sponsor Me" link.
- At the end of each month I will send you an email with my progress for the month and your donation amount.
- Mail in your check to the Trideum Foundation.
- As we reach each $5,000 increment in received donations, I will make a request to the Trideum Foundation to adopt a child's wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Georgia and
Alabama.
- Trideum hosts the wish kickoff party where the child is granted his or her wish of going to Walt Disney World.
